Welcome to Urban Jungle!

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, therapeutic style of yoga taught in a heated room. Yin postures are more passive postures, mainly done on the floor either seated or lying down.

Poses are held for 3 to 5 minutes allowing the body to settle into each posture targeting connective tissue and fascia to increase strength and flexibility.

This breath-based practice focuses on introspection, softness and stillness which activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS).  When PSNS is activated, it slows our heart and breathing rate, lowers blood pressure and promotes digestion.

Benefits

Your body enters a state of relaxation, and this relaxation breeds recovery.  Whether it is the pursuit of calm or resilience, yin yoga is designed to bring you into a quieter state of body and mind.

This type of yoga is gentle and beginner friendly.  Come in to relax, release, calm down, reduce stress and anxiety.
